President Peterson's 2017 Institute Address
Georgia Tech President G.P. “Bud” Peterson delivered his annual Institute Address on Thursday morning, Aug. 31, in Clough Commons 152. His presentation covered highlights of the past academic year, including the continued growing demand for a Georgia Tech education, an update on the 25-year strategic plan "Designing the Future," a short video on groundbreaking research efforts, and a look at the Institute's growing innovation neighborhoods. He recapped the enhancements to the campus, such as the Library Next, West Village, and Living Building projects.
In addition to reviewing how Tech's Commission on Creating the Next in Education is exploring best practices for the future, Peterson also provided updates on steps forward in two important Institute-wide initiatives: the Black Student Experience Task Force and Gender Equity Task Force. He recalled the high points experienced by Tech's most recent graduating class, thanked the Georgia Tech community for its work during the past year, and challenged the audience to work together to shape another productive year.
