President Peterson's 2016 Institute Address
Georgia Tech President G.P. “Bud” Peterson delivered his annual Institute Address on Thursday morning, Aug. 25, in Clough Commons 152. Entitled “What’s Next,” his presentation covered decisions made in the past that still have an impact today, as well as today’s decisions with the potential for long-term impact. He cited as examples the 1996 Olympics, which changed the physical landscape of Georgia Tech’s campus, and the acquisition of the previously blighted property now known as Tech Square, the Southeast’s top innovation hub. Peterson also introduced three important Institute-wide initiatives: recommendations that will be implemented based on the Black Student Experience Task Force, gender equity initiatives, and Tech’s participation in a global model for suicide prevention.
